The story behind the "Welcome to Earth" photographic project
This project was born of an inspiration :
Earth, in its strangest, most enigmatic landscapes, sometimes looks like another planet.I wanted to explore this visual opportunity, this disturbing illusion, by placing a symbolic figure in it: the Earthonaut, a faceless, identity-less character whose space suit evokes the great discoveries. He is Man facing Earth and it is through his eyes that we embark on this journey.For ten years, we have travelled together through deserts, volcanoes, lunar zones, salt lakes and silent mountains.
There is no editing or AI, the scenery captured is real and visited by my 100% human model and I.
This book "Welcome to Earth" is the first chapter of a trilogy entitled
"I dreamt of Earth".
It's not just a collection of images, but a visual narrative, a poetic and contemplative travel diary.
The project asks a simple question: "What if elsewhere was here?"To celebrate the 10th anniversary of this work and alongside the large-format art prints that I usually proposed and exhibit, I wanted to design this intra-planetary guide as a record of this journey, a lasting object to leaf through, keep or give as a gift.Please go to the bottom of this page and send me an E-mail with you request.
La naissance du projet photographique "Welcome to Earth"
Ce projet photographique est né d’une inspiration :
La Terre, dans ses décors les plus étranges, les plus énigmatiques, ressemble parfois à une autre planète.J’ai voulu explorer cette opportunité visuelle, cette illusion troublante, en y plaçant une figure symbolique : le Terronaute, personnage sans visage et sans identité mais dont la combinaision spatiale évoque les grandes découvertes.
Il est l’Homme face à la Terre et c’est à travers son regard que nous embarquons pour ce voyage.Durant dix années, nous avons arpenté ensemble des déserts, volcans, zones lunaires, lacs salés et montagnes silencieuses.
Il n'y a pas de montage ou d'IA, les décors capturés sont bien réels et visités par mon modèle 100% humain et moi.
Ce livre "Bienvenue sur Terre" est le premier chapitre d’une trilogie intitulée “J’ai rêvé de la Terre”.
Il ne s’agit pas d’un simple recueil d’images, mais d’un récit visuel, un carnet de voyage poétique et contemplatif.
Ce projet pose une question simple: "Et si ailleurs, c'était ici?"Pour célébrer les 10 ans de ce travail, en marge des tirages d'art grands formats que je propose et expose, j'ai voulu concevoir ce guide intraplanétaire comme un témoignage de ce périple, un objet pérenne à feuilleter, garder ou offrir.
